
Dr. Ioannis G. Askoxylakis is Head of the Computer Emergency Response Team of FORTH (FORTHcert) since 2009 and member of the Telecommunications and Networks Laboratory of FORTH-ICS since 2002. He holds a Diploma in Physics from the University of Crete, a Master of Science in Communication Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Bristol. He is member of the technical advisory committee of the Hellenic Ministry of Administrative Reform and e-governance since 2011 and in the past he has served as national representative in the Future Internet Forum of EU member and Associated States of DG CONNECT (2009-2013) and as member of the Permanent Stakeholders Group of the European Network and Information Security Agency- ENISA (2009-2012). His research interests lie in the fields of system and communication security, operational cybersecurity, computer security incident response and emergency response communications. He is the author of more than 40 publications in international conferences and journals, as well as book chapters, and has both organized and chaired several prestigious international conferences and workshops. Since 2002 he has participated in more than 20 European, National and Industry funded R&D projects.
